Transfer To Bwindi National Park
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel/ residence as early as 6:30 am to avoid bumping into traffic jam. We will travel through the south western districts until we reach Mbarara for a lunch stop over at Igongo Cultural center / Agip Motel. Continue road trip after lunch passing through Ishasha where you might get chance to spot the tree climbing lions and other wildlife species roaming Queen Elizabeth national park.
You will arrive in Bwindi in the evening, check in at the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking Begins
After an early morning breakfast, our guide will drive you to the mountain gorilla trekking quarters for briefing from the UWA guides about the do’s and dont’s when on gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi. Make sure you have packed lunch, enough water , good hiking shoes and if you need a porter, he can be availed to you so you can enjoy your mountain gorilla safari expedition.
Be prepared for a long trek that may last up to 5 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once in their midst, you will be given 1 hour to take pictures and observe them go about their wild life. Only non-flash pictures are allowed and please don’t litter the park with anything and also don’t make a lot of noise as you risk driving them off. Enjoy your packed lunch in the forest before trekking to a pick-up point where our guide will be waiting to drive you back to the lodge.
After tracking gorillas, you can decide to go for a nature walk or just rest it off and wait for dinner. You will receive your gorilla safari certificate to show your accomplishment over a camp fire.
Day 3 – Departure
After breakfast, check out and prepare for a transfer back to Kampala with en-route stop overs in Mbarara for lunch and at the Equator for pictures and souvenirs. Our guide will drive you back to your hotel in Kampala/ Entebbe or drive you directly to the airport depending on your flight schedule.
